Intensive relations can also be found between Montessori experts of the University of Münster and Montessori educationalists in the Netherlands, in particular the International Montessori Association in Amsterdam and the Association Montessori Internationale (A.M.I.) founded in 1929 by Maria Montessori and her son Mario. For some years now Prof. Ludwig has worked in the Board of this worldwide working organisation. The A.M.I. also administers Montessori’s published as well as unpublished works, an indispensable basis for academic research, especially for the editions of Montessori’s works. Montessori experts from the Netherlands such as Fred Kelpin (Maastricht), Nico van Ewijk (Amsterdam) or Jan van de Kerkhof (Arnhem) have frequently visited the University of Münster to give lectures. In 2000, Ms Hildegard Solzbacher (USA) visited the Montessori Centre as a representative of the A.M.I..
