The work relations with Montessori academics in Korea go back to the year 1995. In 1995/1996, Prof. Syeong-Ja Cho from the Catholic University of Daegu in South Korea, who had already translated several books by Montessori into the Korean language, spent a study year at the University of Münster in order to expand her knowledge in Montessori Education. As a result of her studies she published two more Montessori books in her native country. Since then, Professor Cho, who is in charge of pre-school education at her university, has visited the Montessori Centre in Münster for the sake of consultations several times, the last time in January 2005 with a group of 43 visitors. Prof. Cho is also chairwoman of the „Korean Society of Montessori-Education“. Since 1994 Ms Seong-Eun Rhee-Park, M. A., has studied for several years at the Montessori Centre. Among other things she acquired the Montessori Diploma and also worked as a member of the Montessori Centre staff for a time. For some years now she has been lecturing for the Catholic Sangji College in Andong, Korea. Presently, two Korean graduate students are studying for their doctorate at the Montessori Centre in Münster. The work relations with Montessori academics in Korea go back to the year 1995.
